Artists’ Environmental Gaze: A Ten-Day Documentation

Artists’ Environmental Gaze: A Ten-Day Documentation is a project that comes in form of ten days of experimental and explorative artistic journey within the urban environment, particularly in this case, in “Jakarta’s waters and people.” The two invited artists are Aliansyah CANIAGO from Indonesia and BOO Ji Hyun from Korea. They have chosen Sunda Kelapa and downstream of the city’s main river Ciliwung as both their subject and medium. Sunda Kelapa, which is in the northern part of Jakarta, is especially significant as it is the site of the city’s historic beginnings. The two artists have collaborated with local residents to increase awareness in environmental issues surrounding their residential area, and create an art installation made of found objects.]
