Mediascape: Materials, Senses and Beyond is a new media art exhibition that focuses on the multisensory and interactivity of human beings through different approaches to scapes modes: tactile, taste, digital, sound, scent, and memory.

Featuring 6 media artists from Indonesia, Korea, and England and invites the audience to interact and explore various modes of scapes related to multisensory, both related to physical senses such as tactile, flavor, and aroma, as well as to induce abstract sensations such as memory, imagination, and digital.

In the last decade new media art has become increasingly popular as it allows a new generation of artists and audiences to take part in a more open and collaborative artistic practice.

This session will bring together participating artists in Mediascape: Materials, Senses and Beyond to discuss how art, media and technology have contributed to their artistic and interdisciplinary perspectives. In particular, this session will also discuss how their work in this project highlights the multisensory and interactivity that can be accessed by diverse audiences.

This program is a collaboration between the Salihara Arts Center and ARCOLABS, and is supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Korean Cultural Center Indonesia, Korea Institute for Advanced Study, and British Council Indonesia.

Virtual Gallery Tour

The curator takes the audience on a virtual gallery tour session conducted via Instagram.
