ARCOLABS and HONF FOUNDATION invite submissions from young artists for XPLORE: New Media Art Incubation program to be held in June through July 2018. The open call provides a platform to support innovative and creative new media artwork responding to today’s challenges. The selected participants will gain a series of mentorship programs held in both Jakarta and Yogyakarta prior to the final showcase in Yogyakarta where international figures in the field are invited to a live streaming presentation by the participants. We look forward to submissions that offer unique potentialities and diverse perspectives on new media art.

In Jakarta
Designed to equip the participant with the conceptual and practical knowledge in the new media art, which includes:
1. New Media Art through Concepts
2. New Media Art through Exhibitions
3. Portfolio Building and Presentation
4. Artist Statement and Social Media Writing

In Yogyakarta
Designed to enhance the participant’ design thinking and creation in the new media art through Fabcamp including:
1. Science Technology Workshops*
2. Nature Trip
3. Art Space and Studio Visit
4. Showcase
* Workshops include but not limited to digital fabrication for art, electronic art, kitchen science, eco fashion, basic coding, and can be developed according to the participant’s need.

1. This opportunity is open free of charge to all artists or artist groups working in science and technology
based art.
2. The participating artists will handle his/her travel expanses to Jakarta and Yogyakarta, local transportation
and accommodation, artwork production, artwork shipping and meals.
